THIS LETTER ALSO REFERS TO FACT THAT THIS BARRIER WAS 'CRUSHED DOWN' BY AN ICE-BREAKER AFTER THE WAR. 12.11.57 CHARTED AS SUBMERGED OBSTRUCTION, 20FT ONLY AT MLWS, CENTRED ON 585555N, 031445W. NC 1954. 23.11.79 CHARTED AS OBP WITH LEGEND: 'SUBMERGED OBSTRUCTION (LEAST DEPTH 5.8MTRS)'. NC 2568. H3579/88 21.7.88 OBSTRUCTION STILL EXISTS.
