Cause: built in 1917 by a g weser, bremen. a type iii boat. oil engines of 100 shp for 13.6 knots surfaced, motors of 788 bhp for 8 knots submerged. 4 bow tubes, 1 stern tube, 10 torpedoes. 88mm deck gun. flooded through not completely closed hatch whil diving to evade gunfire from hm drifter hms coreopsis. resurfaced and abandoned while under fire from patrol vessles. crew of 34 all survived.
