Cause: built in 1940-41 by f krupp germaniawerft ag, keil. a type viid boat. oil engines of 3200 bhp for 16.7 knots surfaced, motors of 750 bhp for 7.3 knots submerged. 14 torpedoes for 4 bow tubes, 1 stern. 15 munes. sunk by depth charges dropped by hms cooke. all hands lost.
