IDENTIFIED AS SUBMARINE SITTING UPRIGHT ON SEABED. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 37A/77). AMENDED TO WK 51MTRS IN REVISED POSN. BR STD. HH100/351/05 21.5.92 LOCATED IN 502848N, 001033W [OGB] USING DECCA. (C MARTIN). NCA. HH100/351/14 12.5.99 CONFIRMED AS THE WK OF A GERMAN SUBMARINE. IT IS IN POOR CONDITION WITH MOST OF THE OUTER CASING GONE. MAJOR BLAST DAMAGE IN THE STERN AND BREAKS IN THE PRESSURE HULL FORWARD AND AFT OF THE CONNING TOWER. WILL BE DIFFICULT TO POSITIVELY IDENTIFY DUE TO POOR CONDITION. (I MCCARTNEY, FAX DTD 11.5.99).
