Cause: oil engines of 1400 bhp, electric motors, twin shaft. 1 x 37mm, 1 x 22 guns, 4 x bow, 1 x stern torpedo tubes. passage norway for war patrol and return. apparently arrived off scotland still fully and with her war load of 14 torpedoes. went ashore on buchan ness and received so much damage that she was unable to contine the patol. probably 4 men lost during flooding. was taken out to sea scuttled, the survivors being picked up by hms nodzu. (sibi). sank following a diving accident (grounded). (german warships, ww ii).
