Cause: built 1966 by scott's shipbuilding & engineering co ltd. owned at the time of loss by reefer services co ltd. passage le havre for almeria & casablanca. caught fire following explosion in hold 5 during a storm 20m off ushant. the crew were airlifted to safety and the blazing vessel was taken in tow. vessel sank the following day approx 10m s of ile de sein. (msd).
