THIS POSN IS BELIEVED INCORRECT AS U 96 CLAIMS TO HAVE SUNK VESSEL AT 2052 ON 11 DEC, & ALSO TO HAVE SUNK 'ROTORUA' IN 585600N, 112000W AT 1512 ON 11 DEC, & 'MACEDONIER' AT 0431 ON 12 DEC IN 575200N, 084200W. POSN OF ATTACK ACCORDING TO U BOAT PATROL REPORT WHICH GIVES REF. AM 2618 WOULD APPEAR TO AGREE WITH POSN 584900N, 100900W. (AXIS SUBMARINE SUCCESSES). 17.6.91 SURVIVORS PICKED UP IN 584900N, 100900W. (LL WW2). PLOTS IN OVER 1800MTRS.
