Cause: vessel, built 1930 by ailsa sb co, was torpedoed & sunk by a german submarine after leaving tonnay charente roads for falmouth. all 12 crew members were lost. owned at the time of loss by j hay & sons. (dods). sunk while on passage from cardiff & tonnay charente roads to falmouth. (ll ww2). sunk by german submarine 'u52'. (axis submarine successes).
