Name: TEESDALE (POSSIBLY)

Length 94.5 meter, width: 13.5 meter, draught: 6.2, tonnage 2470 ton
Load: ballast

Cause: 15.6.17 built in 1904 by ropner & son, stockton-on-tees. owned at time of loss by sir robert ropner. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 258nhp, single shaft. passage plymouth for the tees. survived a torpedo attack by a submarine on 15.6.17 and was beached to prevent sinking. after temp repairs foundered while on passage to the tees for docking and repair. (sibi).

LEAST E/S DEPTH 29.0 IN GEN DEPTH 33.5MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 4.2MTRS. NOT OBVIOUSLY A WK - MAY BE BOULDERS OR WRECKAGE. (LAND & MARINE, HI 414B). INS AS OSW 28MTRS. BR STD. HH100/351/19 19.9.02 DIVED IN 5439.086N, 0058.644W [WGD] USING DGPS. APPEARS TO BE A COASTER, BUT DIVED IN BAD VISIBILITY. CERTAINLY A MASS OF STEEL. DIVED BY C RACEY & A JACKSON. (S OLD & B JOLLEY, EMAIL DTD 18.9.02). AMEND TO SW 28MTRS. BR STD. HH100/351/21 12.8.05 DIVED IN LISTED POSN WHICH IS THE ENGINE BLOCK. SMALL, WELL DISPERSED WK. LENGTH 30-40MTRS, WIDTH AT LEAST 8MTRS. BLOCK IS AT LEAST 4.5MTRS FROM THE SEABED. SOME LOCAL DIVERS CONSIDER THIS TO BE 'TEESDALE'. (D PATTERSON, EMAIL DTD 28.7.05). NCA. SEP 2017/000002822 3.5.17 EXAM'D 15.12.16; IN 5439.093N, 0058.639W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 28.83MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 33MTRS, LENGTH 80MTRS, WIDTH 15.1MTRS, HEIGHT 4.87MTRS, ORIENTATION 140/320 DEGS. WRECK APPEARS TO BE UPRIGHT AND INTACT, BUT IS MOSTLY FLATTENED. (MMT, HI 1490). AMEND NDW 28.5MTRS IN REVISED POSN.
