Cause: built in 1945 by c connel & co, glasgow. owned at time of loss by j nourse ltd, london. 3 cylinder oil engine of 449 bhp, single shaft. machinery by barclay, curle & co ltd. passage irwell for the tyne. driven ashore in sw gale & heavy rain on bac beg bank, eilean iomallach, soa, coll. crew of 60 rescued. four days the vessel later slipped off the rocks and sank in deeper water.
