Cause: built in 1942 at elbing, with turbine engines of 28,000shp, capable of 33knots, schulz boilers. was engaged by a british force consisting of cruiser 'black prince' and canadian destroyers, athabaskan, haida, huron & ashanti. was sunk by gunfire from hmcs athabaskan. (dods).
