Cause: whilst en route from canada to boulogne, a fire broke out in the engine room, spreading to the accommodation deck & bridge before being extinguished. as the vessel was making water, her 15 man crew abandonded ship and were safely picked up. the vessel drifted away slowly sinking. a later search was negative, resumed she sank soon after being abandonded.
