Cause: built in 1899 by knut skaeluren, rosendal. owned at time of loss by stabil a/s. one boiler, triple expansion engine of 43 hp, single shaft. passage glasgow for nantes. torpedoed by u-46. two survivors picked up 3 or 4 hours later in a boat 8 miles nnw of st ives. (sibi).

H2959/73 6.12.73 H2959/73 6.12.73 WK LOCATED IN 501748N, 053442W [OGB] USING DECCA. REMAINS OF SMALL VESSEL, POSSIBLY FISHING VESSEL ABOUT 60TONS. SATTERED OVER ROCKY AREA WITH SAND PATCHES. MAXIMUM HEIGHT ABOUT 10FT (3MTRS) ABOVE SEABED. (E GILES). INS AS WK 27MTRS. BR STD. 16.12.11 16.12.11 LOCATED 28.9.09 IN 5017.788N, 0534.814W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 27.20 N GEN DEPTH 30.1MTRS. SCOUR 0.7MTR DEEP. LENGTH 3.2MTRS, WIDTH 3.0MTRS, HT 3.65MTRS. LIES 150/330 DEGS. (FUGRO OSAE, HI 1157). PROBABLE DEBRIS. RETAIN WK 27MTRS IN REVISED POSN. BR STD. 16.8.12 16.8.12 DIVED AND FOUND TO BE A SINGLE BOILER ON ITS END, A SMALL ENGINE AND PROPELLER SHAFT WITH DAMAGED PROP ALONGSIDE AND SCATTERED WRECKAGE. NO SIGN OF ANY HULL PLATING. ESTIMATE VESSEL TO BE WELL UNDER 1000 TONS. (S WELLS, EMAIL DTD 16.8.12). NCA.
