Load: natural fibres and materials in general: unprocessed and products

Cause: built in 1867 by clarke, jersey. owned at time of loss by scrutton & sons, grace st, london. passage st vincent for the isles of scilly. struck w edge of spanish ledges whilst under pilotage. began to make water and anchored in crow sound. later sank. crew recovered. (sibi).

H975/24 9.2.24 H975/24 9.2.24 WK & BUOY DELETED. (HMS SPENSER). NOTE. H2537/27 H2537/27 CHARTED AS WK 12FMS. (AUTHORITY NOT STATED). BA 883. 20.12.71 20.12.71 NOW CHARTED AS WK 21MTRS IN 495557N, 061618W. NC 1148. H1280/76/24 29.1.76 H1280/76/24 29.1.76 THIS WRECK WAS MARKED BY A BUOY POSITIONED BY A RN HYDRO SURVEY TEAM. THERE WERE NO ECHO SOUNDER INDICATIONS OF A WRECK IN THE AREA AND A BOTTOM SEARCH REVEALED NOTHING BUT A FLAT SANDY BOTTOM AT 70FT. OTHER DIVERS HAVE FOUND A WRECK NEARER TOLL'S ISLAND WHICH IS BELIEVED TO BE THE BARQUE 'ST VINCENT' SUNK IN 1882.THIS WK WAS NOT LOCATED. (RAF HONINGTON SUB AQUA EXPEDITION REPORT, 1-15.8.75). NCA. H2568/71 22.4.76 H2568/71 22.4.76 NOT LOCATED.INVESTIGATED BY E/S AND RAF DIVERS WHO CARRIED OUT SEARCH OF CHARTED POSN. (HMS HECLA, HI 2C/75). DELETED. NE 34. 26.10.00 26.10.00 DATA RE-ASSESSED. AMENDED TO DEAD. HH100/351/22 22.9.05 HH100/351/22 22.9.05 WOODEN WK BURIED IN THE SEABED LOCATED IN 4956.064N, 0616.343W [WGD]. ONLY AN IRON WINCH SHOWS 1MTR ABOVE THE SAND. POSSIBLY ST VINCENT.
