Name: ST GEORGE (POSSIBLY)

Length 58.1 meter, width: 8.8 meter, draught: 4, tonnage 548 ton
Load: non-ferrous elements and ores: unrefined and refined,coal

Cause: built in 1881 by the london & glasgow co, glasgow. owned at time of loss by murray bros. two boilers, compound expansion engine of 90 nhp, single shaft. passage swansea for nantes. sank after trapaulins covering the after hatch were washed away in nw force 10 and heavy seas. 11 lives lost. the bot concluded that the ship was too heavily loaded, particulary aft. the managing owner was blamed for raising the load line. (sibi).

AMENDED TO DEAD. 22.11.11 22.11.11 LOCATED 21.10.2010 IN 5019.525N, 0520.091W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 34.53 IN GEN DEPTH 34.8MTRS. NO SCOUR. LENGTH 14.8MTRS, WIDTH 6.6MTRS, HT 0.37MTR. LIES 009/189 DEGS. (FUGRO OSAE, HI 1157). APPEARS AS A MOUND. POSSIBLY THIS WK. INS AS WK 34MTRS. BR STD.
