Shipwreck details

Name: SPEARFISH

Length 28.7 meter, width: 6.4 meter, tonnage 143 ton

Cause: Built in 1957. oil engine, single shaft. converted from a side-trawler. struck leg of self-elevating drilling rig penrod 85. was holed and in sinking condition. later sunk by hms tartar by gunfire as considered to have been a danger to other shipping. (ll & fo portsmouth).
