Cause: reported by lloyds to have been en route from dublin to holyhead with general cargo. other report states that vessel was in collision with us destroyer and foundered with the loss of all her cargo of cattle. passengers and crew taken to liverpool by destroyer. (sea breezes, dec 1970). vessel, built 1908, owned at time of loss by london & north western railway co.positional analysis: slieve bloom was sunk in collision at a position which plots 3.3nm se of this wreck (wreck returns 1918).archival analysis: the wreck was identified by the recovery of the bell by jon shaw (personal communication 14 oct 2019).

BR STD. 11.3.14 EXAM'D 6.11.13 IN 5322.435N, 0452.238W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 45.24 IN GEN DEPTH 52MTRS. LEAST W/C DEPTH 44.0MTRS. NO SCOUR. LENGTH 96.4MTRS, WIDTH 26.1MTRS, HT 8MTRS. LIES 135/315 DEGS. STRONG MAGNETIC ANOMALY. APPARENLTY INTACT AND UPRIGHT. REMAINING MAST UPRIGHT AT NW END. (NETSURVEY, HI 1420). FULLY COLLAPSED AND WELL BURIED. HIGH POINT COULD BE NETS. POSSIBLY WK [7279]. INS AS WK 44MTRS. 27.2.23 WRECK SURVEYED 11/8/2019: MBES DATA SHOWS WK UPRIGHT WITH HOLDS FORE AND AFT COLLAPSED, LENGTH 91MTRS, WIDTH 11.3MTRS. BELL RECOVERED BY RECREATIONAL DIVER(JON SHAW 14/10/2019) HAS IDENTIFIED WK WITHOUT DOUBT THE VESSEL "SLIEVE BLOOM". (INNES MCCARTNEY BOOK "ECHOES FROM THE DEEP"). UPDATE "SLIEVE BLOOM" AND ATTRIBUTES.
