Cause: took water over bows in heavy weather. engine room hatch was open, eng room flooded and bilge pump failed. took on list and sank.

SEARCH ABANDONED AS IT IS NOW CONSIDERED VESSEL MAY HAVE BEEN SEMI-BUOYANT ON SINKING AND DRIFTED FAR FROM THE REPORTED POSN. (OCC TH HARWICH, TLX 14.9.87). NCA. H4557/79 2.11.87 FULL DETAILS OF SEARCH UNDERTAKEN BY THV WINSTON CHURCHILL PROVIDED. (TH HARWICH, 28.9.87). NCA. H3840/86 20.2.89 NOT FOUND DURING AREA SEARCH. (HMS BEAGLE, HI 359). AMEND DEAD. SEP 2020/000233025 24.7.20 WK LOCATED IN 5123.332N, 0402.251W (WGD). LEAST M/B DEPTH 34.78MTRS, LENGTH 16.75MTRS, WIDTH 5.09MTRS, HT 2.09MTRS, ORIENTATION 340DEGS.
