Cause: built in 1896 by bartram, haswell & co. owned at time of loss by f de melo rego. triple expansion engine of 245nhp. passage setubal for hamburg. sank following collision. (dods).

DEFINITE WRECK. DCS3 HEIGHT 16.3,14.0 AND 16.7MTRS, LENGTH 130MTRS. ORIENTATION NE/SW. VESSEL APPEARS TO BE LYING ON ITS SIDE WITH SUPERSTRUCTURE AMIDSHIPS. (HMS FOX, HI 52/76). CHART AS WK 47MTRS.

FAIRLY INTACT WITH SUPERSTRUCTURE MIDSHIPS LYING ON STARBOARD SIDE WITH BOWS TO SOUTH WEST. 20FT BRONZE PROPELLER WITH BOLT-ON BLADES, MASTS LYING ALONG SEABED. BELL SEARCHED FOR BUT NOT FOUND. (SUBSERVS, 16.6.79). NCA. HH100/351/20 28.8.03 DIVED 9.7.03 IN POSN 5026.205N, 0046.228W [WGD]. LEAST DEPTH BY GAUGE 56MTRS AT LOW WATER. STERN UPRIGHT AND 10MTRS HIGH, REST OF WRECKS 4-5MTRS AND FAIRLY BROKEN UP, SINGLE PROP. POSSIBLY THE 'SINES', SEE ALSO 19872. (G GOOCH, FAX DTD 14.8.03). NCA. HULL PLATE APPEARS TO BE LYING FLAT ON SEABED WITH PROP SHAFT VISIBLE WITHIN IT. REST OF WRECK APPEARS TO HAVE COLLAPSED TOWARDS THE NORTHWEST, AND IS WELL BROKEN UP.(MMT, HI 1498). AMEND NDW 52MTRS IN REVISED POSN.
