HH100/351/20 1.7.03 DIVED IN LISTED POSN. THIS IS A VERY OLD PADDLE STEAMER OF ABOUT 600-700 TONS. UPRIGHT AND MOSTLY BURIED. PORT SIDE OF HULL COLLAPSED INWARDS AND THE STBD SIDE COLLAPSED OUTWARDS. SINGLE BOILER ON ITS SIDE BUT TOTALLY COLLAPSED. ENGINE LIES ON ITS SIDE WITH IRON/STEEL SHAFTS RUNNING OUT TO WHERE THE PADDLES WERE. LOTS OF COPPER PIPING STREWN AROUND BUT NO BRONZE/BRASS VALVES, SO MAY HAVE BEEN SALVAGED. (R YOUNG, EMAIL DTD 30.6.03). NCA. HH100/351/20 11.7.03 HAS BEEN DIVED AGAIN. THERE ARE TWO BOILERS BUT ONE IS IN PIECES AS IF IT HAD EXPLODED. A STEEL OR IRON PROP ALSO LOCATED. THIS MUST HAVE BEEN CARGO AS THE VESSEL IS DEFINITELY A PADDLER WITH ONE ENGINE. THUS IT NOW APPEARS TO BE A SHAFT DRIVEN VESSEL. PROP ON DECK IS FOUR-BLADED AND A VERY OLD TYPE. STEERING BINNACLE HAD THREE BEAUTIFUL BRONZE DOLPHINS IN AN ARCHED POSITION SUPPORTING IT.
