Cause: built in 1905 by j redhead & sons. owned at the time of loss by scrutton & sons. passage london for the west indies. torpedoed by ub 35 when 10m w of s catherines point. eventually sank on the bridge of needles in two halves. five men lost. (ww1sl).

E END SOLID FOR A DISTANCE OF APPROX 30-40FT & CARRIES A DEPTH OF 13.5FT. THE REMAINING PORTION APPEARS TO HAVE BROKEN UP AS SMALL PIECE 2-3FT ABOVE THE BOTTOM. LEAST WATER 12FT [LWST].
