Cause: built in 1904 by j p rennoldston & sons, sunderland. owned at time of loss by the elliot steam tug co ltd. oil engine, single shaft. capsized and sank while standing by towed vessel which had broken free. four men lost. (sibi).

STATED BY SWANAGE FISHERMAN TO BE WK OF A LANDING CRAFT BUT DOES APPEAR TO BE SO. IT LIES ON EVEN KEEL. LENGTH ABOUT 30MTRS, BEAM 7-8MTRS. STEEL CONSTRUCTION WITH ROUNDED BOW. STANDS ABOUT 2MTRS ABOVE SEABED WITH BOW S. CYLINDRICAL OBJECT, PROBABLY THE BOILER, IS HIGHEST PART AT CENTRE OF WK. NO SIGN OF ENGINE OR PROPELLER. (M T WOOD, 9.5.91). CHART AS NDWPA.
