Cause: built in 1883 by tyne iron sb co, newcastle-upon-tyne. owned at time of loss by kerse ss co, grangemouth. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 99nhp, single shaft. passage portishead for calais. cargo petroleum. torpedoed and sunk by u-55. (ww1sl, ll ww1 & sibi).
