Cause: built in 1904 by w grey & sons, west hartlepool for the london & northern ss co. under charter to the italian government. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 299 nhp, single shaft. machinery by the central marine engineering co, west hartlepool. passage newport for barry roads. torpedoed by ub-109. was taken in tow but tow parted and drifted onto the outer quires rocks. (war risk insurance & losses books bot, der krieg zur see & sibi).
