Cause: was washed ashore on dutchman's bank following engine failure and incompetent seamanship during a gale. (dods). vessel, built 1816 by a.m. maclachlan &co., dumbarton with paddle & 2 cylinder compound engine & 2 boilers. owned at time of loss by liverpool & beaumaris packet co. was in poor condition when she was used for sightseeing trips from liverpool to beaumaris. 127 lives lost.
