Cause: 13.12.1969 built 1945 by eriksberg m/v a/b, gothenburg. owned at time of loss by maregida cia. nav. s.a. had just arrived at bayonne from kpeme. anchored 300mtrs off bayonne entrance on 13.12.1969. a signal was given that the vessel had engine trouble. vessel then dragged anchor & ran aground n of jetty during gales & heavy seas on the evening of 15.12.1969. during early hours of following day the vessel broke in two & sank. 5 of 27 crew lost.
