Cause: built in 1945. owned at time of loss by bahi shipping co ltd. passage oulu, finland for to piraeus. experienced engine trouble in heavy weather off guernsey. abandoned after the vessel became uncontrollable. eventually driven aground on la conchee rock, off perelle bay, w coast of guernsey. broke in two and sank. THESE ARE SURROUNDED BY BRIDGE & UPPER DECK SECTIONS WHICH WERE WASHED OFF WHILE VESSEL WAS AGROUND. STERN SECTION WAS WASHED OVER THE REEF AND NOW LIES APPROX 300YDS NE OF THE REEF, UPSIDE DOWN IN 30FT OF WATER, REASONABLY INTACT. BADLY SMASHED WKGE STRETCHES BACK HALF-WAY TO THE MAIN REEF. BOW SECTION LIES DETACHED JUST OFF REEF ON NE SIDE & JUST SUBMERGED AT LW SPRINGS. (M G SHEAN, SEVERNSIDE BSAC, 6.8.79). AMEND TO DW [PA DELETED] IN 492829N, 023824W [EUR].
