Cause: built in 1894 by w b thompson & co ltd, dundee. owned at time of loss by m langlands & sons, liverpool. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 201nhp, single shaft. passage aberdeen for liverpool. torpedoed and sunk by u-20. (sibi).

HYDROSEARCH VERT HT 10.4MTRS, SHADOW HT 7.5MTRS. LENGTH 79.5MTRS, BEAM 14.4MTRS. LYING 000/180DEG, UPRIGHT AND FAIRLY INTACT. BOWS S AND HIGHEST POINT APPEARS TO BE A MAST AT N END OF WK. CHART AS WK 24.1MTRS. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 357). NFA. HH100/351/04 11.2.91 HH100/351/04 11.2.91 THIS WK THOUGHT PROBABLY TO BE THE STANLEIGH. (K HURLEY, 11.1.91). HH100/351/01 18.4.91 HH100/351/01 18.4.91 IDENTIFIED AS THE PRINCESS VICTORIA. LIES N/S IN GEN DEPTH 33-36MTRS. BOW LISTS TO STARB'D, MIDSHIPS IS UPRIGHT AND STERN LISTS TO PORT. BOW DECKING AND PLATES HAVE COLLAPSED AS HAS THE WHEELHOUSE AREA. ENGINE ROOM AND SUPERSTRUCTURE ARE IN REASONABLE CONDITION. STERN AREA IS BROKEN WITH ONLY STERN POST STANDING HIGH. (S A RODGER, 14.3.91). HH100/351/05 7.8.92 HH100/351/05 7.8.92 LIES WITH BOWS S AND IS FAIRLY INTACT THOUGH MIDSHIPS AREA IS SLIGHTLY BROKEN. WHAT APPEARED TO BE A MAST AT N END IS A LARGE OLD TRAWL WHICH HAS SPIRALLED INTO A COLUMN AND IS UPRIGHT. (K HURLEY, 6.7.92). 24.1.94 24.1.94 CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS THE PRINCESS VICTORIA - BELL REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN RECOVERED. (K HURLEY, TELECON). 23.10.95 23.10.95 APPEARS TO BE IN TWO SECTIONS. IN 533754.1N, 033921.5W [WGD] AND 533753.9N, 033920.6W [WGD]. DIVED 21.10.95 IN POOR VISIBILITY. BOW APPEARS TO BE STILL INTACT, TRAWL NET STILL IN PLACE. (R LEYLAND, TELECON).
