Cause: built in 1959 by n v schps 'foxnol'. owned at time of loss by james fisher & sons ltd. passage hamburg for runcorn. cargo potash. capsized and sank in very heavy weather while on passage hamburg to runcorn. it was concluded that vessel sank because no1 hatch was not properly secured.
