UPPER PARTS OF WK COME VERY CLOSE TO SURFACE. ONE MAST SHOWING ABOVE WATER. LOCAL SALVAGE COMPANY HAS REMOVED PROPELLER, SPARE PROP., AND OTHER EQUIPMENT. OPERATIONS ARE STILL UNDER WAY. VESSEL WAS GREEK REGISTERED IN FAMAGUSTA. (ST ATHAN SUB AQUA CLUB, JUNE 1970). NCA. H1247/69 & H3193/70 24.6.70 CORRECT POSN OF WK IS 495757N, 062104W. ONLY FOREMAST NOW REMAINS ABOVE WATER, WITH PART OF BRIDGE STRUCTURE JUST AWASH. STERN IS TO THE W IN SOME 50FT OF WATER AND IS NOW VERY BROKEN. WK LIES WITH PORT SIDE HARD AGAINST A SMALL UNDERWATER ROCKFACE. LARGE HOLE IN STARBOARD SIDE, OPPOSITE NO. 3 HOLD, GIVES EASY ACCESS INSIDE WK. CARGO HAS SPEWED OUT AND A THIN GREY LAYER OF ZINC ORE COVERS ENTIRE SEABED. AREA LIES WELL TO E OF THE MAIN VIEW OF NEW GRIMSBY HARBOUR CHANNEL, BUT IS STILL A HAZARD TO SMALL CRAFT.
