Cause: built in 1909 by roper and sons ltd. owned at time of loss by pool shipping co ltd. three boilers, triple expansion engine of 301 hp, single shaft. machinery by blair & co ltd, stockton. passage glasgow for barry. mined. 16 men lost, the survivors being two days adrift in the bristol channel before being recovered. (ww2sl & sibi).
