Cause: 27.11.1939 stranded on revetment and broke in two. stern floated further up the channel and sank on 27.11.1939.

LIFE BOATS, ANCHORS & CABLES, WINDLASS, WINCHES, ETC. RECOVERED & SOLD 24.2.1940. WK CAUGHT FIRE AND COMPLETELY BURNT-OUT AMIDSHIPS MAY 1942. ARRANGEMENTS MADE WITH BRITISH IRON & STEEL CORP FOR DISPOSAL INTO SCRAP IN 1945. WORK HAS PROCEEDED INTERMITTENTLY. (STEAM BARGE 'ANGLIA' WAS SUNK ALONGSIDE TO THE EAST OF THE WRECK WHEN RECOVERING SCRAP). HT ABOVE LBD UNKNOWN. FORWARD MAST VISIBLE. POSN 533142N 030728W. (LIVERPOOL WK RECORDS).
