LIFE BOATS, ANCHORS & CABLES, WINDLASS, WINCHES, ETC. RECOVERED & SOLD 24.2.1940. WK CAUGHT FIRE AND COMPLETELY BURNT-OUT AMIDSHIPS MAY 1942. ARRANGEMENTS MADE WITH BRITISH IRON & STEEL CORP FOR DISPOSAL INTO SCRAP IN 1945. WORK HAS PROCEEDED INTERMITTENTLY.
