Cause: vessel, built 1921 by scott & sons of bowling. built for the rt hon baron penhryn, registered at beaumaris. sold on to the angelsey shipping co. on passage from sharpeness to liverpool. sank in the irish sea, possibly sunk by mine. (k hurley).

Details measurements/cartography: H3838 5.4.88 EXAM'D 21.3.87 IN 533113N, 041828W [OGB] USING HIFIX/6 [4 LOP]. LEAST E/S DEPTH 39.0 IN GEN DEPTH 49MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 8.7MTRS. LENGTH 42MTRS. LIES W/E. MAGNETOMETER INDICATES STEEL VESSEL. (HMS FOX, HI 357). - NM 1184/88. HH100/351/07 26.7.93 DIVED ON RECENTLY. LIES WITH BOW W. HIGHEST POINT IS AFTER ACCOMMODATION & WHEELHOUSE. NOT IDENTIFIED. UPRIGHT & INTACT. GALLEY PLATES & CUPS, & TELEGRAPH BRITISH MADE. NO SIGNS OF CARGO IN LARGE CENTRE HOLD. A LARGE TRAWL HAS SNAGGED THE PORT BOW & IS HELD ABOUT 6MTRS ABOVE THE HULL BY FLOATS. (K HURLEY, DTD 22.7.93). 4.3.94 DIVED ON SEVERAL TIMES. NO POSITIVE IDENTIFICATION BUT POTTERY & BOTTLE FOUND HAVE BEEN EXPERTLY IDENTIFIED AS FROM 1900-1910 PERIOD. CONSIDER THIS WK IS PROBABLY THE CLYTIE. (K HURLEY, TELECON). HH100/351/09 22.2.95 WK, THOUGHT POSSIBLY TO BE THAT OF THE `PAMELA' AS IT APPEARS SIMILIAR TO A PHOTOGRAPH OF VESSEL. AMMUNITION FOUND ON VESSEL IS DATED 1943, AS IS TELESCOPE FOUND. VESSEL'S CARGO WAS BARLEY HENCE ITS EMPTY HOLD. COMMERCIAL GUARD REQUESTED ON THIS DATA. (S A RODGER, LTR DTD 8.2.95). NCA. HH100/351/11 19.6.96 PHOTOGRAPH OF PAMELA HELD. CONFIRMED THAT THIS WK IS PAMELA. FURTHER DATA AS ABOVE. (K HURLEY). 4.4.00 CINC DELETED. MORE THAN FIVE YEARS. SEP2022/000028019 12.04.22 EXAM'D 10.08.2021; IN 5331.236N, 0418.510W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 39.87MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 47MTRS. LENGTH 49MTRS, WIDTH 10.2MTRS, HEIGHT 6.5MTRS, ORIENTATION 279/099 DEGS. UPRIGHT WRECK, BOW STARTING TO GET BURIED, STERN UPLIFTED. (CLINTON MARINE SURVEY AB, HI1507 - H525-7442). RETAIN NDW 39MTRS IN REVISED POSN.
