Cause: Built in 1911 by w dobson & co ltd, newcastle-upon-tyne. owned at time of loss by the london midland scottish railway. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 331nhp, single shaft. passage goole for cowes. sank in a collision with british ss ryde after avoiding a torpedo fired by a german e-boat. (sibi).
