Load: natural fibres and materials in general: unprocessed and products,general and mixed goods

Cause: vessel, built in 1914 by ailsa shipbuilding company and owned at the time of loss by general steam navigation company, was torpedoed and sunk by german submarine u-20 while on passage london to le havre. 21 lives lost. (ll ww1, wwisl, naval staff monographs, vol.13 & dods). [see also wk [13701] in 510951n, 0015100e].
