Cause: built in 1924 by vickers. owned at time of loss by orient steam navigation co. turbine eniges of 3900 nhp for 18 knots. while serving as an auxilliary transport was attacked and sunk by the german heavy cruiser admiral hipper. 19 men lost, 280 became prisoners. (dods).
