Cause: vessel, built in 1923 by chantiers & ateliers de st nazaire and owned at the time of loss by constants (south wales) was wrecked on the manacles rocks whilst en-route from bilbao, via falmouth, to port talbot. had steering gear damage in bad weather and was towed to falmouth for emergency repairs. went ashore at lowland point soon after sailing after completion of repairs. CRAB POTS IN VICINITY MAY INDICATE PRESENCE OF WK. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 521) NCA. A LARGE PROPELLER SAID TO BE FROM THIS WRECK, LIES ON THE ROCKS AT LOWLAND PT. (CORNISH SHIPWRECKS, VOL.II) NCA. HH100/351/18 4.3.02 FIXED IN 5002.027N, 0504.051W [WGD] DURING 2001. LIES SCATTERED ON ROCKS, ORIENTATION 020/200DEGS, BOWS 020DEGS.
