Name: NY-EEASTEYR

Length 24.1 meter, width: 6.4 meter, draught: 2.4, tonnage 61 ton

Cause: Ex-holstein. built of wood in 1970 in germany. owned at time of loss by manco ltd, ramsay, iom. oil engine, single shaft. passage yarmouth for ramsay. reported taking water and later sank. master was accused of deliberately sinking vessel by damaging, or disconnecting, pipes in the engine room, causing it to flood. official judgement was is that vessel was scuttled.

H2595/80 19.2.81 CHAIN SWEEP OF WK IN 503928N, 002142W [OGB] GIVES CLEARANCE OF 15.7MTRS, NOT 16.9MTRS AS ORIGINALLY ADVISED. AMENDED POSN CONFIRMED. (TH, TELEX 19.2.81). AMEND TO SW 15.7MTRS IN REVISED POSN.

LIES ON ITS PORT SIDE WITH BOW TO W. AT THE E END, IS AN UPRIGHT SECTION OVER WHICH IS THE SHOAL POINT. A CENTRALLY LOCATED MOUND IS PRESENT BUT THERE ARE NO IDENTIFIABLE STRUCTURES MIDSHIPS.
