Cause: Was under tow of several tugs & loaded on barge 'intermac 600'. on passage from scotland for brazil. barge capsized after breaking tow in severe weather. structure was newly built & intended for brazil's namorado oil field. (lloyds vols.235 & 236).

PILE GUIDE NO 8 PROTRUDES APPROX 1MTR AT LW. STRUCTURE ALMOST INTACT. SOME MINOR DEBRIS LIES TO THE NORTH. PART OF STRUCTURE REMAINS ON BARGE INTERMAC 600. SALVAGE PROSPECTS DOUBTFUL. (LL 24.1.79).
