Cause: 17.8.43 a 'captain' class frigate (us buckley-class destroyer escorts). built in bethlem, higham. transferred 17.8.43 on lend-lease. three 3 inch aa, ten 20mm aa guns. 600bhp for 20 knots. complement 200 men. torpedoed by by u-775. struck midships and broke in half. stern portion sinking 2 hours later. 97 men rescued by hms hesperus. (colledege & warship losses of ww2).
