Details measurements/cartography: 19.12.91 CANNONS, PROBABLY FROM A MID 18TH CENTURY MERCHANTMAN, WITHIN A RADIUS OF 150MTRS OF 501811N, 040634W [OGB] ON MEWSTONE LEDGE. THE REMAINS OF AT LEAST THREE OTHER WKS LIE ON THE SITE, ALMOST ON TOP OF EACH OTHER, INCLUDING PARTS OF SS AJAX, WHICH SANK IN 1854. (ADU REPORT NO. ADU 91/10). RECORD MADE CINC. NCA. HH090/594/01 11.11.94 INVESTIGATED BY DCS3 AND ECHO SOUNDER. NO EVIDENCE OF CANNON OR ANY OTHER WRECKS. DCS3 SEARCH IN THREE DIRECTIONS TO LOOK UP GULLIES AND RIDGES. DIVERS REPORTS CONFIRM THAT MATERIAL REMAINS ARE ROUTINELY FOUND ON THE LEDGE .(HMSML GLEANER, HI 594). POSN FOR FILING ONLY. 17.11.98 CINC REMOVED, MORE THAN 5 YEARS ELAPSED. ABOVE COMMENTS CONFIRM THAT SITE IS WELL KNOWN. 16.8.11 NOT LOCATED BY M/B. (MARIN MATTEKNIK, HI 1356). NFA.
