Cause: built of iron in 1878 by laird bros, birkenhead. owned at time of loss by the isle of man steam packet co. one boiler, 2 cylinder compound inverted engine of 210 nhp, single shaft. the first screw ss belonging to the steam packet co. sank following collsion with ss rita. mast removed and dispersed.
