Cause: built in 1878 by e withy & co, hartlepool. owned at time of loss by j cormack & co. passage barry for le havre. torpedoed by uc-77. 11 men lost. (sibi). survivors recovered after 6 hours by glasgow ss clifton grove. (diver magazine).

NO COAL SEEN BUT HOLDS FULL WITH RAILWAY LINES. HAS 3 INCH GUN MOUNTED ON STERN. INDENTIFIED JULY 1975 BY RECOVERY OF PLATE GIVING OWNERS NAME (JAMES CORMACK CO OF LEITH) BY P CORNISH OF CHESNUT.
