Cause: ex-puerto rico. built in 1913 by chantier et ateliers de st nazaire, st naziare. two triple expansion engines with lp turbines. passage southampton for marseilles. torpedoed by e boat although fully illuminated and carrying french colours. was carrying french naval personnel who were being repatriated following the capitulation of france. 33 crew and 402 passengers lost. (sibi, dods & lloyds war losses).
