Cause: vessel, built in 1894 by furness withy & co., hartlepool, was torpedoed and sunk 14m ene of pendeen by german submarine u-55 whilst en-route from dieppe to swansea. (ww1sl, ll ww1 & shipwreck index of the british isles).
