Cause: Steel ss built in 1892 by ropner & sons, stockton on tees. owned at time of loss by lowlands steam shipping co. machinery by blair & co ltd, stocton on tees. 2 boilers, triple expansion engine, single shaft. 270 ihp. torpedoed and sunk by german submarine ub 34 while on passage south shields to the nore. sank in four minutes. four crew killed.
