Load: ferrous elements and ores: unrefined and refined,ore

Cause: vessel, built in 1896 by irvine & co., west hartlepool and owned at the time of loss by alexander shipping co., was torpedoed and sunk by german submarine ub-103 12m ssw of the lizard whilst en route from bilbao to heysham. 19 lives lost. (ll ww1, dods & shipwreck index of the british isles).
