Cause: built of iron in 1861 by pile, spence & co, west hartlepool as an iron barque for lenox, nephew & co. in 1899/1900 was converted to dumb barge of 467 gross tons. owned at time of loss by the east coast tug co. passage king's lynn for newcastle-upon-tyne. foundered in easterly force 9. crew of 6 lost. (r young).

INS AS WK 24MTRS. BR STD. 28.2.06 THIS IS STATED BY KEITH LAWRENCE TO BE A BARGE. (R YOUNG, EMAIL DTD 28.2.07). NCA. 29.3.07 THIS IS A STEEL BARGE. GENERALLY STANDS ONLY ABOUT 1MTRS CLEAR OF THE SEABED, APART FROM A SINGLE CYLINDER, STEAM, DONKEY ENGINE WHICH STANDS ABOUT 3MTRS CLEAR.
