Cause: vessel, built 1855 in quebec, was on passage quebec to greenock, lost steering while trying to seek shelter in loch ryan during a storm and grounded. 19 of 21 crew lost. owned at time of loss by by john hall of newcastle, vessel was later sold and much of her timber hull recovered.
