Length 105.2 meter, width: 15.1 meter, draught: 5.4, tonnage 3965 ton
Load: general and mixed goods,non-ferrous elements and ores: unrefined and refined,metal: concentrate and products

Cause: built in 1899 by russel & co, port glasgow. owned at time of loss by helmdale steam ship co. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 348nhp, single shaft. machinery by rankin & blackmore, greenock. passage new york for le havre. torpedoed by u-57 and sank quickly (?struck contact mine). no lives lost. (sii).

GIVES V STRONG MAGNETIC RESPONSE. (HMS FOX, HI 51B/79). AMEND TO WK 56MTRS IN REVISED POSN. BR STD. 9.5.07 WK LOCATED IN 5156.273N, 0701.039W [WGD] USING DGPS. GEN DEPTH 66MTRS. LENGTH 133MTRS, WIDTH 27MTRS, HT 6.6MTRS. (INSS SURVEY 1999-2005). LIES 095/275 DEGS. INTACT BUT APPARENTLY ALMOST SUBSUMED WITH CENTRAL HIGH POINT (?ENGINE/BOILERS). NO SCOUR.
